• Frequently Asked Questions

1. What will the course content be?

That depends on your needs. Every course is different because it is designed for YOU only, and no two lessons are the same. Sometimes the student provides presentations, product literature or asks for help with skills such as telephoning. In other cases, I analyse a student's level and grammar requirements using assessment tests and we agree a programme of lessons to practise grammar and functions needing practice.

2. What type of courses do you offer?

You can see our range of courses on our homepage- click the 'Read more' button for details.

3. Will I get homework?

Yes, if you want it!

4. Can I keep the lesson?

Yes, I will email or give you a copy of the lesson materials to use at home or help with homework or send links to suitable online resources.

5. What are your qualifications?

Hannah:  First Class Honours Degree in Modern Languages, MSc in International Business, CELTA Teaching Certificate. Ten years of teaching and tutoring experience in the UK, France and Spain.

6. What is your accent?

I speak clear British English with a neutral accent (students say I am easy to understand!)

7. Are 1:1 lessons cost-effective?

Very. The cost of each lesson includes all assessments, preparation and marking. Progress is quicker because the lessons focus on the areas of vocabulary and skills you need - not others in a class.  In the case of any public exam fees, these are payable by the learner.

8. How much does it cost?

As each course is designed is to meet the client's exact needs, this depends entirely on your requirements, number of students and location.  As a guide, the price ranges from £30 per hour for individuals to £55 per hour for small groups on request.

9. Is there a trial lesson?

Yes. There is a one hour, no obligation trial lesson charged at our usual rate, after that you are free to continue or stop lessons.

10. Are there cheaper teachers?

Of course, but they may not be well-qualified, experienced in school and college teaching, or offering structured programmes of study. Often, they just offer a 'chat'.

11. When can I have my language lessons?

Please contact me for availability as I work in training management in the Birmingham area.

12. How do I know it is safe for my child to contact you online? (Young Learners Courses)

I have CRB (Criminal records Bureau) clearance to work with children and young people. I can provide you with other details of clients who can verify my status.

13. What if I change my mind or am not satisfied with my lessons?

In the unlikely event you are not happy with your lessons you may cancel without penalty.

14. How can I book and pay for my lessons?

Please always contact first before buying your lessons to check availability. After that you can pay for your lessons by cash, bank transfer or invoiced by arrangement.
